ASHIMA

In the Shilin region of southwestern China, it’s not trees that jut out of the ground like stalagmites in a cave, but imposing, threadlike rocks that create the illusion of a stone forest. It is from this forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that Leonardo drew inspiration to create a ceramic stone with a rough appearance—strongly characterized by ripples, grooves, and marks left by the elements and the passing of time—but with a soft core and a smooth surface distinguished by the differences in light refraction across each individual piece.

BLUE SAVOY

Acclaimed and appreciated by designers and architects, the eponymous natural stone quarried in Haute-Savoie, in the French Alps, is used for both interiors and exteriors, in both new construction and renovations. It features a crystalline background with shades ranging from light bluish gray to dark gray. And just like its reference model, Blue Savoy porcelain stoneware reproduces this unique translucent effect on its surface.
