System Description

IMOLA TECNICA IT-S metal structure sized to withstand static and dynamic load stresses according to regulations, consisting of:

  • Anchoring plugs suitable for the support;
  • 6060 aluminium anchoring brackets with “L” section, 3 mm thick, complete with pre-fixing retaining spring;
  • Standardized aluminum rivets or self-drilling stainless steel screws for fixing the uprights to the brackets;
  • 6060 aluminum uprights with “L” and “T” section, 2 mm thick (with the option of black anodization);
  • Standardized aluminum rivets or self-drilling stainless steel screws for fixing the beams to the uprights;
  • 6060 aluminum beams with a 3 mm thick “C” section (with the option of black anodization);
  • Stainless steel mechanical expansion plug for fixing the staples to the facing;
  • Simple and millimetric adjustable anchoring clips , equipped with tightening screw and adjustment screw;
  • Neoprene gasket to be applied between the anchoring clip and the facing sheet.
  1. Laying of the warp and thermal management

    The brackets, secured to the existing wall support using appropriately sized mechanical or chemical anchors, create a rigorous static design. This allows for the vertical uprights to be secured using "fixed point" and "sliding point" rivets, to which the slotted stringers will be attached. The entire system, designed by a registered engineer with a specific executive project, allows for the necessary freedom of movement in the longitudinal direction to avoid impeding thermal expansion .

  2. Mechanical attachment to the facing

    The staples (separated by a neoprene gasket) are attached to the panels using purely mechanical fastening, without the use of any type of adhesive . This is achieved thanks to a special truncated cone-shaped (non-through) hole drilled on the back of the facing, designed to receive a special expansion anchor.

  3. Adjustment and aesthetic result

    The assembled panels will be attached to the stringers using millimetric adjustment screws. This precision allows for perfectly variable joints , both horizontally and vertically.

The hooking systems

The structures, designed by Imola Tecnica down to the smallest detail, are secured to the support so that the only loads acting on them are the system’s own weight and the wind. The cladding can be supported with visible hooks (colored to match the panels) or with an invisible fastening system, ensuring the best aesthetic result every time.

Invisible hook

The system with “concealed” fixings involves processing the sheet that allows it to be attached to the structure with elements that are not visible from the outside of the facade.

Visible hookup

The system with “exposed” fixings involves supporting the slabs and therefore using (exposed) hooks that can be colored and customized to match the color tones of the slabs.

Designed for the future: efficiency and longevity

Porcelain stoneware doesn’t fade or rot like plaster or wood. Choosing a ventilated facade means investing in a system built to last, with significant benefits on long-term operating costs.

Color stability and UV resistance

Completely unaffected by sunlight. The ceramic surface does not undergo color changes or structural degradation, maintaining a perfect aesthetic decade after decade.

Simplified cleaning

The virtually zero porosity naturally repels dirt and smog. This facilitates extremely quick cleaning and ensures the easy removal of any graffiti.

Optimized LCA and ROI

The 20-year cost advantage is unbeatable compared to traditional materials. The “low maintenance” approach maximizes the building’s economic sustainability.

Punctual replacement

In the event of serious accidental impacts, the mechanical fastening system on the aluminum and steel support allows the single damaged sheet to be removed and replaced.
